The Kruger Brothers Band-The Players

Uwe Kruger is guitarist and lead singer. Drawing from an eclectic repertoire that ranges from pure mountain to rock to classical, Uwe awes audiences with his command of the guitar. The influence of Doc Watson is evident in many of Uwe's presentations, particular "Black Mountain Rag." He is not only a guitar picker extraordinaire, but a talented songwriter. Uwe has an uncanny sense of humor and meticulous timing. He is an avid photographer whose work can freqently be seen on KrugerBrothers.com.

Jens Kruger
Jens Kruger is highly gifted musician, song writer, composer and a master of the five string banjo as well as the acoustic guitar. Jens, predictably, is on his way to his place as one of the most talented banjoists in the world-some contend he has arrived. As an avid student of the banjo, Jens has been influenced by the greats of bluegrass, not the least of which was Bill Monroe, and now has exercised profound influence on others. Jens has developed a unique style and demonstrates a wide range of musical disciplines from classical to mountain. Jens is a philosopher, a humanitarian, a sensitive gentleman, and most of all, a gentle man.

Joel Landsberg, the band bassist, has performed with the Kruger Brothers since 1995. Joel brings to the group a broad background drawn from jazz, classical, show music, and rhythm and blues. Although initially classically trained on the piano, Joel has been devoted to playing the bass since age twelve. He is a "countrified" New Yorker. Joel is an EMT with varied interests, particularly in some young lady from North Carolina.
